“Urbanist” is only one of the vocational descriptors for Dr Sarah Barns who has an interesting and varied vocational life at the intersections of academic research, public art and creative practice, and policy and strategy, with some of her specialities being in Urban Research and Digital Futures.

Sarah Barns is author of the book Platform Urbanism, co-director of the design studio Esem Projects and a related media and design platform called Storybox . She also has a consulting practice called Sitelines Media and academic affiliations with QUT and the University of Melbourne.
